Description:
The Chapel dates from about the middle of the 12th century and was built in simple Romanesque style. It is located opposite the Loggia (with the inner courtyard between them). After the capture of the castle by the Mamlukes, the chapel was used as a mosque and a minbar was installed. Interestingly though, due to the continued presence of Christians in the castle, the chapel was shared by the two religions. An inscription on the entrance (see photo) roughly translates to "to each his own" or "each person may do as he pleases", referring to religious tolerance.
